This year's XTech looks even more interesting than last year's which was very enjoyable, to say the least.
The theme for this year will be Building Web 2.0 so I'll definitely try to arrange my presence there and like last year hang out with the browser track crowd. The Krasnapolsky Hotel also appears to be an improvement over last year's RAI centre which was functional but a little bland.
There is one problem though: I'm not going to pay for it, because I'm supposed to get free entrance. On the last day of the previous conference my name was drawn out of a box and I won a free ticket to an IDEAlliance conference of my choice. I would be contacted the next week to finalize the details. (Laurens is my witness) Or so they told me. I haven't heard anything and, worse yet, they're not responding to my emails. You see, being Dutch, if I get promised something for free I want it. Especially if that free something is worth $1195.
So my hope is now set on you, reader. If you know an email address other than xtech2006 at idealliance.org (yes I tried 2005 too) or, better yet, know some more direct way to reach the right people I would be greatly indebted to you. I might even buy you a beer at the conference.
